Party organizers are now very aware of the dangers of uninvited guests, commonly known as "Gatecrashers" or "Freeloaders" who can disrupt parties and events, and cause damage, theft and violence.
The consequences of an out-of-control party with over 500 people, hosted by teenager, Corey Worthington, at his home in Victoria while his parents were out of town holidaying, is well known. Police were not amused when they were called to attend. The harm caused by the rowdy crowd included the throwing of bottles and bricks, breaking letterboxes, the shouting of obscenities, as well as drunkenness and damage to police cars. Neighbours were terrified and horrified. Several similar incidents have come to the notice of the media in recent years, highlighting the potential dangers of parties that swell out of control.
Queensland Police Service have now launched an initiative called "Party Safe". You can register your party with the Police one week before the party. They also provide a Party Safe Checklist and Hints for Guests, Parents and Hosts.
There are several strategies one can use to protect their party, and the use of tyvek wristbands to identify invited guests is one of the best systems. Wristbands can be issued to guests together with the invitation or as the invitation itself. Guests are required to put on the single-use wristband before or as they enter the venue, thus preventing the ability to pass invitations onto others through fences etc. They clearly identify the invited guests from the gatecrashers.
AAC can offer several different levels of security wristbands depending on your party needs. The idea is to use wristbands that are not readily available. We have a large range of Patterned wristbands that would suit this purpose. These are available for immediate dispatch.
